Cutting The Cord

If you hear someone refering to cutting the cord, they might be talking about the birth of their child but what they could be talking about is having the cable TV turned off. The package deals that are supposed to save you money really don’t save you anything. What about those terrific packages, that  include the “plastic jewelry channel”, “the fishing channel”  and lets not forget the “buy the copper bracelet that does nothing channel”. Read more…

Over The Air

The first thing you must do has nothing to do with the Internet and that’s get an antenna. If you still have the old one on the roof that one will do fine. Rabbit ears on top of the TV may work but not well. Use this in conjunction with a digital TV tuner. If you have a new TV you already have a digital tuner.

You now get many more channels than the 6 you got thirty years ago plus the picture quality is much better. Read more…

The second part of this endeavor  to end the cable expense is getting programming from the Internet. This can be done a couple of ways. The first is watching TV programs on you computer.
