Add Videos To Your Site

A great thing that you can do with YouTube is add YouTube videos to your site using embedding. You can take those videos you uploaded to your channel and have those appear on your website. To do this go to the video you would like to use click “Share”, then click “Embed”. You will see some code starting with <iframe. Click inside the box with the code and copy it. Read more…

Promote Yourself With YouTube

One of the best things you can do with YouTube is create a channel to promote yourself, your business or your cause. Post videos about your work or anything you think people might be interested in. Try to make all of your videos on one subject or related subjects. Upload your videos then change the background for your channel to make it look unique. Use Photoshop or some other illustration program to create some custom art work or just use a original picture with some writing on it.  Read more…

Subscriptions

Once you have a YouTube account and you have signed in you can subscribe to you favorite channels.  Let’s say you come across a great Photoshop tutorial by ajwood2001 and you wood like to see what other videos he has. Click on the user name ajwood2001 and it will take you to his channel. Let’s say you really like the tutorials on Mr. Wood channel and you would like to keep up up with his new videos. Just click the “Subscribe” button at the top of his channel page.

Manage And Edit

You can manage your videos visibility, stats and comments right inside YouTube. You can see your video’s stats, thumbs up and thumbs down all from the Uploads page.

You can edit your videos right inside YouTube. You can cut, append, edit the sound track and more right inside of YouTube.

From the Analytics page you can see how many people are viewing your videos and where they are viewing them from.

Upload Videos

To upload video to YouTube you must first have a YouTube account. If you already have a Gmail account just use your Gmail login.

YouTube supports many video formats including WMV, AVI MP4 and many others. See a list.

Download YouTube Videos

Of course you can watch YouTube videos from the YouTube website but what if you have dialup or even worst no Internet at all. With the “Download YouTube Videos as MP4 and FLV” extension for Firefox you can download YouTube videos when your near a high-speed connection and them watch them later when you don’t.

YouTube For Education

I know you’ve seen the sleepy cat videos, the failed skateboard stunts and the Cosplayers on YouTube. What you may not have seen is all the great educational videos. You can learn almost anything on YouTube. Anything from math to cooking. As a matter of fact, education videos are the largest growing area of YouTube. Read more…

Teaching Yourself Tech

A little more the twelve years ago I began my quest to learn computers and the Internet. It all started with a terrific show on TechTV (then ZDTV) called “Call For Help“. It was a show for those just beginning to use computers and the Internet. TechTV was sold and resold. Now called G4 it is only a shell of its former self with only shows about gaming. Hangouts

Hangout simply put is video chat on steroids. You can do collaboration, business meetings or just hang out with your friends.
